Wakeve

Effective April 14, 2026

Privacy Policy

Wakeve protects event planning data with a local-first architecture and uses personal information only to provide collaborative scheduling, account access, notifications, and app reliability.

Information We Collect

We collect account details such as name and email, event content such as titles, descriptions, dates, participant lists, poll votes, and device identifiers needed for push notifications. Approximate location preferences may be used for event suggestions when provided by the user.

We may collect anonymized crash reports and usage analytics to improve app stability and product quality. We do not sell personal data, serve personalized advertisements, track background location, or read existing calendar events.

How We Use Information

  • Create and synchronize events, polls, votes, and participant access.
  • Send event notifications and reminders when enabled.
  • Authenticate users through email, Apple Sign-In, Google Sign-In, or guest mode.
  • Maintain security, prevent abuse, and improve reliability with diagnostics.

Storage, Security, and Retention

Wakeve stores data primarily on your device and syncs to servers when online. Network communication uses HTTPS, local secrets use platform-native secure storage, and synced data is encrypted at rest on the server.

Active account data is retained until account deletion. Deleted events may be retained for up to 30 days for recovery. Push notification tokens are retained until logout, token refresh, or account deletion. Anonymized analytics may be retained without personal identifiers.

Third-Party Services

Wakeve may use Apple Push Notification Service, Firebase Cloud Messaging, Apple Sign-In, and Google Sign-In. These services receive only the data needed to provide their feature, such as authentication details or device notification tokens.

Your Rights

You may request access, correction, export, deletion, or restriction of your personal data. EU, EEA, and California users may have additional rights under GDPR and CCPA. Wakeve does not sell personal information.

Authenticated users can start account deletion in the app from Profile Settings, then Data Management, then Delete Account. Guest users can delete local guest data from the same Data Management area. If you cannot access the app or need privacy help, contact us at privacy@wakeve.app.

Children's Privacy

Wakeve is not directed to children under 13. If we learn that we collected personal information from a child under 13, we will delete it promptly.

Changes and Contact

We may update this policy and will notify users of material changes through the app or by email. For privacy requests, contact privacy@wakeve.app.
